Gibson Brands, Inc., the world’s premier musical instrument manufacturer and the home of such preeminent brands as Gibson, Epiphone, Baldwin and Wurlitzer, is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join the team at Gibson USA. This position will be based in Nashville, TN.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The job of Manufacturing Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the activities of production and the hourly team members associated with the finishing, buffing, and final assembly manufacturing production process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coach, and mentor each team regarding safety procedures and protocols for each department.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production or processing of guitars such as sprayers, finishing repair, buffers, and final assembly team members.
- Work with whitewood/rough mill supervisor to coordinate operations and activities within and or between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Audit of materials, products, and equipment to detect defects, out of specification conditions, or trends.
- Observe work flow, monitor scorecards, and other KPIs to ensure that team members conform to production or processing standard work.
- Assist in employee training with safety procedures, equipment, processes, and product specifications, working with the team leads and Gibson trainer.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, company policies, and procedures for team leaders and team members.
- Establish and retain records of employees' time and attendance.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Woodworking and guitar experience is a plus.
