Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager (Operations/Production) reports to the Gibson Garage Store Director and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Garage and business side of the production schedule in partnership with the Entertainment Relations team. You will partner with the Store Director and with the Entertainment Relations Manager to ensure the overall utilization of the Garage and Showroom, producing events that amplify Gibson’s local/regional/national presence and dedication to supporting our roster of artists and loyal fans. 

A demonstrated ability to create and maintain an exclusive, exceptional brand experience for all artists and partners visiting the Garage is vital. Juggling multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced and multi-functional environment is required.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Inventory management: product and supplies 
  • Ownership of the Garage calendar: schedule of content shoots and events, guitar tech appointments and meetings, large scale in-store events, etc.
  • Assistance with staff scheduling, timekeeping/payroll and oversight of the shipping department will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely - both orally and written.
  • Ability to manage team in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Outstanding time management skill set with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. 
  • Strong organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and balance workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances; able to proactively question and challenge to prioritize and identify solutions in timely manner.
  • Able to see the big picture but possesses a pragmatic/flexible approach to delivery.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • 3+ years of experience managing a brand, retail, or office space and inventory.
  • Deep knowledge of music industry with strong existing knowledge of Gibson family of brands.
  • General understanding of sound and stage production.
  • Experience in executing events in a support role.
  • Proven ability to manage inventories of high-value products.
  • Proven experience supporting growth through transparency, consistency, and disciplined execution.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation, with a track record for delivering to plan.

 

 

Travel Requirements: 

 

  • This position based in the Garage but may require some local travel.

 

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • Must be able to have a flexible schedule and work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment for 8+ hours. 
  • Standing and walking required 60% of the time. Bending and/or squatting required 20% of the time. Lifting required 20% of the time with a max weight of 50lbs.
